Tula Probiotic Skincare Review for Cystic Acne
As you probably know by now, I suffered from hormonal cystic acne for years. After taking a round of Accutane, I’m left with sensitive, oily, and acne-prone skin with visible pores. Although clear of painful cyst, my skincare journey is far from over.
My current skincare problems are oiliness, blemishes, and an uneven skin tone. After three weeks of trial and error, I think I found the perfect products to work into my skincare routine to achieve my goals of having clearer, smoother skin, and a more radiant and even skin tone. Cue, Tula Probiotic Skincare!
Tula uses probiotics in their products to “help promote the look of skin’s natural balance, lock in moisture to leave your complexion more hydrated, and reduce the appearance of inflammation.” All of their products are cruelty-free and “clean” meaning you won’t find any phthalates, parabens, propylene glycol, petrolatum, gluten, or mineral oil in their ingredients.
I discovered Tula early September at their event in SoHo. There, I got my hands on four products that I absolutely fell in love with, and can’t wait to tell you about! Grab your cafecito and let’s get into this Skincare Review!
Purifying Face Cleanser
Tula’s Purifying Face Cleanser is the bees-knees. Seriously! It’s gel-like consistency allows for a true pea-sized amount to be used and worked into a refreshing lather. It smells amazing and is gentle on your skin, yet tough on stubborn eye makeup and impurities. My skin feels soft and clean afterwards, never stripped or dry! I like to use a pea-sized amount of this cleanser morning and night after I remove my makeup (trust me, a little goes a long way).
If you have a few extra coins in your pocket then I definitely recommend you purchase this cleanser! It’s perfect for all skin types no matter if you have oily skin (like me), dry, sensitive, or combination skin.
Kefir Ultimate Recovery Mask
On mornings where I realized I fell asleep in my makeup, or when my skin looks dull and blah I like to use the Kefir Ultimate Recovery Mask after I cleanse. This mask has a lotion-like consistency and melts into the skin the same way a thicker lotion would. Although I have oily skin, it can look dry and dull after a night of too many margaritas, or a long day rushing around the city without drinking enough water to keep my skin hydrated. The Kefir Ultimate Recovery Mask is comforting and leaves my skin feeling plump, glowy, and alive again.
If you have excessively oily skin I would not recommend this product as it adds moisture to the skin and can aid in oiliness. However, it’s perfect for dry, dull skin, or for those like me who don’t mind an extra umph in their glow!

If you know me, you know that I'm obsessed with chemical exfoliation! Once a week I like to use Tula’s Exfoliating Treatment Mask to combat acne and help even out my skin tone. Chemical exfoliation can seem scary and I’ve used some scary products, but this mask is super gentle and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed afterwards. The bentonite clay sucks up all of the oil from my pores and afterwards they look smaller and less noticeable. Yay!
I recommend this product to any one suffering from an uneven skin tone, and looking for a gentle exfoliator that doesn’t strip your skin dry. The Exfoliating Treatment Mask is perf!

Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream
Honestly, this is THE BEST moisturizer I have used thus far in life! The Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream is the bomb dot com! A pea-sized amount is cooling on the face and absorbs into my skin instantly. A little goes a long way with this product as well, so don’t go overboard when applying. The best part is that it isn’t sticky and it has a refreshing light scent. My skin feels uh-mazing, hydrated, supple, and naturally glows after using this product! I love it!
I recommend this product for those of us suffering from oily and acne-prone skin because it isn’t overbearing or heavy on the face, yet it provides the perfect dose of hydration. The only negative thing I can say about the Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream is that it doesn’t have an SPF in it, so you’ll have to protect your skin from the sun another way.
You can shop the Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream here for $48.
