Summer to Fall Transition Makeup for OILY Skin
It’s that time of year again! The magical transition from disgusting hot and humid days to the cool crisp air that Fall brings. Yay! This is very much my favorite time of year and I’m already prepping my makeup vanity to reflect the weather change. In doing so, I thought I’d share the key items that I’m rotating back into my everyday makeup routine. Let’s get into it, shall we:
It’s important to prep your skin for makeup. Having a poreless finish is ideal, but not every one’s reality. That’s why I like to use a primer before I apply my foundation. It helps to blur my pores and allows my foundation to last a lot longer with a smooth finish.
My favorite primer for cold weather is Milk Makeup Blur Stick. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue on my face and absorbs into my pores very nicely.
In the Summer I tend to wear tinted moisturizer, but in the colder months I opt for a medium to full coverage foundation. My favorite for oily skin is the NYX Cosmetics Stay Matte But Not Flat Foundation. It’s build-able coverage is perfect to fit whatever mood or look I’m going for and it matches my skin tone perfectly.
As for setting powder, I reach for the same one I used all Summer long. The Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder is my absolute favorite. The only difference in the Fall is that I pack it on a little more, and bake a little longer than I was previously. I find that this helps keep the oil on my face away for a lot longer and it gives my foundation an extra boost in the matte department. Yay!
What’s a finished look without setting spray? Since I have oily skin this isn’t a step that I tend to skip. In the Summer I opt for rose water to refresh my face and set my makeup, but as we transition to colder weather I’ll be reaching for NYX Matte Setting Spray instead. It’s lightweight, yet heavy duty in the fact that it helps my makeup last all day long.
