$29 for less than 2 oz of product sounds pricey, but is it worth it? Deva Curl was kind enough to send me their new High Shine Multi-Benefit Oil and after a month of use on my naturally curly TWA and a few weeks in Senegalese Twists, here is my honest opinion!

I have a 3B/3C TWA (teeny weeny afro) and it gets DRY! From my scalp to the ends of my curls, my head screams for moisture. I find that using creamier products and locking the moisture in with a light gel, then sealing with an oil works the best. However, finding an oil that doesn’t irritate the skin around my hairline has been a challenge.

Then I received Deva Curl’s High Shine Multi-Benefit Oil. The first thing I did was check the ingredients. It’s jam packed with sunflower seed oil, shea oil, coconut oil, and a few others I can’t pronounce. Next, was the scent test. I’m not a huge fan of scented products, but I can usually handle whatever perfumes Deva Curl uses. The High Shine Multi-Benefit Oil is warm and light, not overpowering at all so I knew it wouldn’t compete with the rest of my products. The oil itself has a nice consistency, not thick like castor oil, but not as light as organic virgin coconut oil.

The High Shine Multi-Benefit Oil comes in a spray bottle and is meant to be the last step in your routine, so that’s exactly how I used it. Andddd, I love it! I spray the oil all over my head while my hair is damp, then gently work it in with my fingers. When my hair finally dries my curls look noticeably moisturized and healthy!

I know what you’re thinking, “But Sha, you got it for free! Would you buy it yourself??” I’m more than half-way through my original bottle and I’m contemplating if it’s worth spending my own coin, or not. I can honestly say that I love how my hair looks and feels with the High Shine Multi-Benefit Oil added into my routine, and I’m too lazy to mix my own oils. Therefore, Deva Curl’s High Shine Multi-Benefit Oil is definitely worth the money.
